— sponsored by the WIDC & Woodside Public LibraryWords As Windows PDF

In light of the events of the past few months, we are pleased to announce our first community "read", sponsored by the Woodside Inclusion & Diversity Committee and the Woodside public library, As we all reflect on these events, issues of social injustice, police brutality, protest, and race are at the forefront of many of our minds. These topics require inward reflection, and many of our community members are seeking sources to help educate themselves and guide their thought processes. With this in mind, we encourage everyone to participate in this community "read" with the book Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You (The Remix) by Ibram X. Kendi. Students, families, and community members not affiliated with Woodside School are also encouraged to participate.

Discussions about Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You will take place in August via Zoom and will be moderated by our town librarians and WIDC members.

  • The discussion for adult readers to join together will take place on Thursday, August 6th at 6pm.
  • The discussion for young adult readers (ages 12 & up) to join together will take place on Thursday, August 13th at 6pm
  • A final discussion opportunity for community members of all ages to join together will be announced soon.
