This is my 13th year at Woodside Elementary School. It’s been an amazing experience and this year looks to continue in that tradition. My teammates in 2nd grade, Linette Griffith and Debbie Faleschini are incredibly nurturing and knowledgeable educators. It’s exciting to work with them and to learn on a daily basis.
I grew up in Miami and have 6 siblings – 5 brothers and 1 sister. Poor Claire- at least she is always the favorite sister. We grew up an active and rambunctious bunch. My mother was a former 1st grade teacher, always trying to keep us under control. I feel parents are always the first and best teachers.
My teaching experience started overseas. I taught English in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and India. Traveling and teaching was a great experience but nothing compares to having your own class and getting to know the families in your community.
I like to bring some of my traveler’s adventuresome spirit into my classroom, as well as the lessons my parents instilled in me. In Room 10, we learn by doing, making, growing, playing, sharing and enjoying. Here is to a year filled with health and happiness!
