5th Grade Design ChallengeTop of Page

Fifth Grade Design Thinking Curriculum Integration Project
Led by Mrs. Parkhurst, Woodside’s fifth graders took on the challenge to design a carnival game of chance or skill for their second grade buddies. They started by finding out what kind games their little buddies liked. Then, along with another 5th grader, they brainstormed ideas for a game to meet the needs of both their little buddies. Students then spent the next 3-4 weeks building a prototype of their game in the design lab. The 5th graders then shared the game with their buddies and all the rest of the 2nd graders at the Fifth Grade Carnival Game Reveal. Shortly after that they collect feedback on what was liked about the game as well as improvements that could be made.
