READ each night! Get your reading log signed.  Due Mondays.
The Breadwinner unit packet due Wednesday.  The Breadwinner Test is Wednesday. Use your packet to study for the test.

Week of April 3 -
READ ! Get reading log signed.  Due Mondays!  Clause Quiz Wednesday.  Study! Prepare your notes.  All Breadwinner work should be submitted through Google Classroom.  No need to print for me.  You will create a packet of your work when we finish the book. :)
Monday:  Signed Reading Log & Progress Report Due today. The Breadwinner 1-3 Reading Questions and Vocabulary due Tuesday
Tuesday: Breadwinner 4-6 Reading Questions and Vocabulary due Thursday
Wednesday:  Clause quiz - open note 
Thursday;  Work on Breadwinner 7-9 due after our spring break.

READ ! Get reading log signed.  Due Mondays!  
Theme essay  on independent reading due FRIDAY.
Tuesday: theme statement due
Wednesday: Writing Plan or Outline due
Thursday: Rough Draft Due - I will not collect this; but will give feedback if you would like.
Friday: Theme Essay due at the start of class.  Have it printed off and paper clipped or stapled together.

Read Nightly! Chapter 3 grammar test Wednesday; Chapter 3 review test due Wednesday morning; yes! one page of notes is acceptable for test day.

Monday:  The Giver Assignment 2: Vocabulary definitions and sentences are due Tuesday however The Reading Response questions 5-8 are extended to the end of class on Tuesday.

Tuesday; The Giver Assignment 2: Reading Questions 5-8 due at the end of class today.  (see above) ; Complete grammar study guide and review test on Google Classroom.  

Wednesday: Grammar 3 test; Begin reading chapters 9-14;  Matching vocabulary quiz 1-4; and 5-8 on Thursday.

Thursday:  Read! mark log.

Friday: Read! mark log.

Week of Feb 6-10:

Read nightly and get reading logs signed due Mondays:  We are starting the unit on The Giver.  This can count as your reading if you do not finish the assignment in class.  

The Giver - Assignment 1:  Read chapters 1-4; complete reading response questions and vocabulary sections for 2/10; Instructions for How to complete vocab sentences and defintions as well as how to write well done reading questions are on this website.

Just read! No Homework dureto Science Fair.

Week of January 16th: Read each night and log in your time on your reading log.  Turn in reading log on Mondays.

Read each night and log in your time on your reading log.  Turn in reading log on Mondays. Plan to have a book in class on Tuesday.  Janus writing project due Wednesday. See Google Classroom for more information on the project.

Week of December 5th:

Reading Response Questions to A Long Walk to Water Chapters 11-18 due Thursday 12/8;  Make sure to print off your entire packet of questions or to have collected all your previous handwritten or submitted work to create one complete packet.

Wednesday: Chapter 2 Grammar Test; prepare a single page of notes for the test if you like

Monday: See above -Study & prepare for test.  Warriner's Handbook review pages 36, 38, 39 & 40.

Tuesday: Practice test -- see Google classroom document; Due Wednesday.

Week of November 7th-10th:  Friday is Veterans' Day. NO School :)

Read at least 15 minutes daily

Grammar - Chapter 2 quiz Wednesday 11/16 study grammar chapter 2 - begin to put a single note page together for the chapter quiz.  See google classroom for study guide and slideshow.

Memoir Writing Project due 11/3; Have all work completed and edited; pictures, etc  all ready to assemble your book on 11/2.  You can have Wednesday evening to add any finishing touches before turning in on Thursday morning 11/3.

 

 

 

Week of October 23rd:

Read! collect photos & images for memoir book! Continue writing on your memoirs each night for 15-20 minutes.

Monday: Labor day

 

Tuesday: Read;  Finish heart map - add at least 20 items; add color, icon pictures.  Make it uniquely yours!

 

Wednesday: Read!  Bring your book to class for a writing assignment on Friday.; Complete memoir/ personal narrative brainstorm strategy: People, Places, and Things

Jot down people, places and things who are special to you ie.,. (friends, family members) and why.

 

 

Week of August 29th:  Read every night!! :)    plus ...

Monday:  Gather decorations for  Personality Poster Project  (3D

objects, small trinkets, photos, pictures, stickers, downloaded clipart to represent you!) Check the rubric for requirements.  We will work on this in-class project only on Tuesday; Poster is due Thursday morning.  Those needing more time should see me during office hours or arrange time.  :)
