My name is Steven Frank, and I am the current Middle School Principal at Woodside School. I am in my third year as the Middle School Principal, and prior to this, I was the K-8th grade Assistant Principal for five years and a Middle School history teacher since 2002.
I was born and raised in the Napa Valley and then graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with my undergraduate degree. I then earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Santa Clara University. I am fortunate to live in Portola Valley with my incredibly supportive wife and two wonderful daughters.
In addition to my teaching social studies to the 6th grade students, there are a number of duties and responsibilities that I assume as Principal, but none is more important than interacting with the students, teachers, and parents consistently throughout the day. Visibility, relationship building, and always being aware as to what is going on in the Middle School are the most important duties that I have.
Some of my other duties that take place either throughout the year or at certain points during a school year are as follows:
Student Council Advisor
School's Master Schedule
Middle School Student Scheduling
Overnight Field Trips
Lead Staff Meetings
Help to Oversee School Site Council, the Faculty Advisory Committee, the Science Committee, the Design Committee, etc.
Middle School BBQ's and Dances
School Board Reports
High School Articulation with both the Sequoia Union High School District and private High Schools
High School Fair
1:1 Parent Meetings with 8th and 5th Grade Parents
