Jacob Niebaum has been a part of our Woodside School community in recent years, most recently serving as a long-term substitute during the 2020-2021 school year. We are pleased to benefit from his expertise in Science, and we know that our students will benefit greatly from his knowledge. Jacob has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology. Jacob holds a Single Subject Teaching Credential with dual authorization in Life Science and Introductory Science, and he has over 15 years of experience with kids in the classroom. He is a member at California Academy of Sciences, and he loves all sciences, with a current fascination with quantum mechanics and particle physics.
Before marriage and kids, Jacob trained and raced marathons with a best time of 2:37 at Boston. He now does some running, biking, and hiking for fun and exercise. He completed a solo rim-to-rim hike in Grand Canyon this past summer in 115-degree temperatures, and took his kids, a 12-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl, on a two-week road trip to Yellowstone National Park, Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota this past summer. He looks forward to a great year at Woodside, filled with lots of Science exploration!
