Dear Lower School Families,

I am looking forward to seeing you and your children as we begin the 2023-2024 school year on Wednesday, August 16th. I’m sure it will be an adjustment to get back into the daily routine. I know a lot has to go on in the mornings by the time I see you, and it’s not as easy as you make it look. On our end, the campus looks beautiful, the classrooms are inviting, and our staff is ready to create the magical experience you’ve come to expect from Woodside School. 

Our first day of school is a minimum day for all students, beginning at 8:25 AM with the day ending at 12:30. Beginning Thursday, August 17th, students in Grades 1-4 will follow the regular bell schedule and Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students continue to follow a minimum day (see below.) 

On this first day of school, if you haven’t already picked out a first day outfit, please send your child to school in any of our Woodside School apparel that you may have. We will be holding an Opening Day assembly for all students.

In order to streamline communication, you will receive the Wildcat Weekly which goes out to the entire school community every Monday. You will see messages from me in the Wildcat Weekly. Superintendent Steve Frank also sends a weekly communication on Fridays. Occasionally, I will need to send a separate message (like this one) to the entire Lower School or a particular grade level. 

Enjoy your last few days of summer break, and I’ll see you on Wednesday. Please see important details below about the start of the 23-24 school year.
