Welcome to our Learning Center! I am the Resource Specialist for 5-8th grade at Woodside School.  I am thrilled to be an intricate part of your child’s middle school learning experience. Additionally, I look forward to personally meeting each of you and cohesively working together, along with our core teachers, to assist our students in being successful in the general classroom as well as achieving their individual goals.

My teaching experience began in Florida where I received my Masters of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education, Varying Exceptionalities, grades K-12 at Florida State University. Additionally, I began my career as a Reading Specialist, where I worked in the middle school setting for 5 years. I built upon this foundation in Burlingame, where I served as the Resource Specialist at Burlingame Intermediate School from 2001-2008. Certificates that I hold are a California Certification, Level II, Educational Specialist Instructional Credential, as well as a Florida Reading Specialist Certification. Additionally I hold a Clear Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development Certification.

As the resource specialist I work closely with students, parents, teachers, administrators, support staff and other agencies to provide services to identified students with exceptional needs.  I teach content specific areas of Language Arts and Mathematics as well as study skills, remedial skills, and supported Science and Social Studies curriculums in an individualized tutorial setting.  I continually participate as a member of the IEP team to design individual educational programs for special education students, provided direct instruction in the area of need, evaluate the progress of program participants, and conduct on-going reviews of the I.E.P’s.  As the learning center teacher, I serve as a resource to the general education teacher and other specialists in designing short term instructional objectives as specified in the I.E.P’s.

I have a 9 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I adore being a mother as it brings many enlightening experiences to my teaching. I feel fortunate to be part of such a wonderful community as Woodside and enjoy giving back each day. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone if you have any questions or concerns. Your children inspire me and reward me with their gifts and challenges, thank you!
