Woodside School District will return from Winter Break (January 4-8) in Distance Learning: Following the district’s email regarding the decision to return from Winter Break during the week of January 4-8 in Distance Learning (full email HERE), Woodside School wanted to provide more detail around your child’s learning experience the week of January 4th. Please note that all students who are enrolled in Woodside’s Virtual Academy program will remain with their Virtual Academy teachers during this week.
Learning Structure for Grades TK-8th: We will use Zoom to connect students to their teachers and will continue to utilize the designated platforms to access assignments (SeeSaw/Google Classroom). Teachers will communicate the appropriate Zoom links prior to the January 4th start time. If your child receives services, please look for any upcoming communication from the Student Services Department prior to the January 4th start time. On Friday, December 18th, your child was provided everything they will need from their classrooms for the week of January 4th, this includes checked-out iPads/Chromebooks and chargers. Families who were absent on Friday, December 18th can pick up materials the morning of Monday, January 4th from the front office. Attendance for TK-8th Grade: Teachers will take attendance during the first period for Lower and Upper School. It is expected that students will attend all classes throughout their entire school day.
Upper School — We will maintain our current In-Person learning schedule.
Monday, January 4th’s Upper School Schedule:
School will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 3:10 p.m.
Tuesday-Friday’s Upper School Schedule:
8:50 a.m.-3:10 p.m. (Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.)
Teachers will meet live at the beginning of each period.
A balance of synchronous and asynchronous learning will be planned out.
Classes that have been delivered asynchronously will continue to be delivered asynchronously.
Upper School FLEX classes: Students will receive an updated Zoom link prior to their FLEX class on Monday, January 4th.
