Steps to obtain a 30-Day Substitute Permit
  1. Pass the CBEST and print out the official score report
  2. Order official Bachelor's Degree transcripts sent to Woodside School District, attn: Michelle Ahlstrom
  3. Take 3 copies of the 41-LS fingerprint form provided by Michelle to any LiveScan office
  4. Complete with Michelle to be submitted to the San Mateo County Office of Education: 

    • SMCOE Substitute Application Form
    • Create login/password on California Commission on Teacher Credentialing website
    • Apply for Certificate of Clearance
    • Apply for Temporary County Certificate

  5. Applicant pays online by credit card when the substitute permit approval email is received
  6. Complete the Woodside School District employment packet
  7. Provide driver's license, social security card and TB test
  8. Carly in the front office will provide an Aesop login and password to accept substitute openings online
  9. Email a brief introductory biography that will be distributed to staff
