From the Author, Illustrator & PoetWarm Bread
We are excited to announce that on November 19th at 2pm, we will be holding an assembly for all 5th-8th graders. The authors and illustrator of the book, It Rained Warm Bread, have graciously agreed to come to talk to our students about the writing process and the heartfelt story behind their book. Author Gloria Moskowitz-Sweet will be sharing the story of her father, a Holocaust survivor, and sharing his incredible journey of hope. The illustrator, Lea Lyon, and accompanying poet, Hope Anita Smith, will be discussing what it takes to write a book and the collaborative writing process.
Purchase The Book
Prior to event: If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book, the authors would like to encourage the support of a local independent bookstore, Reach and Teach, that is committed to social justice. The owner has set aside copies of the book for our families. Please bring a check payable to "Reach & Teach" for $15 to the main office during school hours, and we will provide you with a copy.
After event: If you would like to order after the event, you can do so at https://shop.reachandteach.com/book/9781250165725
This is an extremely valuable learning experience that we are so excited to offer for our students. If you do not want your child to attend this assembly, please contact Jenn Pedersen directly.
