Hello and thank you for visiting my website. I have been a special education teacher at Woodside School for more than 10 years and have worked with students across all grade levels.

Teaching was not my first career. My working life started in the business world where I worked in a variety of finance-related positions starting in public accounting, moving on to banking, and ending in the technology field. It was a fun and stimulating career filled with opportunities including the fantastic experience of living and working overseas.

Then one summer, I took a week of vacation to volunteer at a summer camp for children from challenging backgrounds. What a delightful experience it was! That was the spark that ignited my career change to follow my passion for children and education. So, I closed my life chapter of more than 20 years in the business world and began my new journey.

While working on my credential I volunteered at several schools and worked with students in kindergarten through high school in a variety of communities. Prior to coming to Woodside, I worked in another public school district where I had experiences as a para-educator, a Resource Specialist, and a Special Day class teacher.

In addition to my Education Specialist credential, I have a Master of Arts in Special Education and a preliminary administrative credential. I have voraciously sought opportunities to learn and grow as a professional in the education field. A few highlights of my training and experiences are:
  • Two summer seasons working at Lindamood Bell Learning Clinics
  • Slingerland training
  • Making Math Real training
  • Graduate program certification in Autism (Project Mosaic)
  • Silicon Valley Math Initiative training
  • Writer’s Workshop training
  • Special Education Directors Academy
  • CBO (Chief Business Officer) Bootcamp for school business officers
  • International Dyslexia Association membership and attendance at many dyslexia-related trainings, conferences, and workshops
Please email me if you would like more information on the services I provide.
