March 2022 — Ms. Kathy Jones was the 2022 recipient of the Teacher of The Year Award (for Elementary School) from the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance! Ms. Jones has been teaching Physical Education for the past 29 years and has worked to build Woodside's Physical Education program from the ground up. She loves to create meaningful and joyful physical education experiences for all students. She started her personal physical education journey by walking on stilts and learning how to ride a unicycle! From there she found a love for softball, tennis, cycling, skiing, and surfing. She is Nationally Board Certified and is an instructional coach with H-PEC. She gives presentations on physical education at the local, state, and national levels. Woodside Elementary School is so lucky to have Ms. Jones as our Physical Education educator! Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved award. Way to go, Ms. Jones!
