We are excited to be partnering with My Digital TAT2 this year to offer digital citizenship education to our students. We are excited to offer a more comprehensive approach to addressing important and prevalent issues that we see inside and outside of the classroom around technology, social media, and identity. Their programs begin in 3rd grade, and this week we began implementing these student workshops for all 3rd-8th graders. Each grade level will have two sessions with My Digital TAT2. 3rd-5th grade sessions will both be in-person, taking place in class sections within classrooms. 6th-8th grade sessions will be a hybrid model, with the first session being in-person and the second session online.
The idea is that we continue this work yearly, as the curriculum builds each year and is developmentally targeted to real issues students experience at each age level. You can see the workshop topics for each grade level HERE. We will also be holding a staff professional development session next month with My Digital TAT2, as well as a parent education night hosted by the PTA. We all know how big of a role devices play in our students' lives, and we hope that this will be a beneficial experience for all as we help students to navigate their digital lives safely and responsibly.
