The mission of the Woodside School Foundation (WSF) is to provide a dependable flow of funds to supplement the Woodside School District's budget. The goal is to ensure continued excellence in academic, social and cultural programs. The Foundation raises this financial support from, and is accountable to, the parents and the broader community. It is the intention of the Foundation to support the School Board and Administration to ensure donations are consistent with the spirit of the Woodside School District's Strategic Plan.
The WSF Board of Directors is comprised of school parents who donate their energy and time.
The Foundation initiates two fundraising campaigns during the school year—the Annual Fund in the fall and the Grand Auction held every May. Funds raised enable the Woodside School District to offer an exceptional education to its students, above and beyond most California public school standards, including small class sizes, committed teachers, a fully-staffed library and a rich and rigorous curriculum where children can find their passions in art, literature, science, math, sports and outdoor education.
In Woodside, public funding covers approximately three-quarters of the cost of the outstanding education Woodside School provides for it students. Our community continues to demonstrate amazing generosity and commitment to our public school. In 2015-2016, the WSF met its fundraising goal and provided 20% of the operating budget for the school. Raising an average of $4,800 per student, the WSF successfully bridged the gap between public sources of funding and the cost of a Woodside School education.
