About Me: I am excited to start my ninth year at Woodside Elementary School! Originally from the Grand Canyon state of Arizona, I spent most of my life in the Beaver State of Oregon. I attended Southern Oregon University on a wrestling athletic scholarship where I received a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a Master's in Teaching. I currently hold a K-12th grade single-subject credential in Physical Education.

My teaching career started in Pacifica and then I taught for the next 12 years at the San Francisco Unified School District teaching middle school physical education at Alice Fong Yu K-8 School. During my tenure at Alice Fong Yu, I established PE, track, and wrestling programs. My students led the district in Fitnessgram fitness testing and performed as one of the top schools in California. I have a passion for teaching students to develop strong work habits, social skills, and a growth mindset. I have coached basketball, track, and wrestling at the middle school and high school levels, I currently coach wrestling at the college level.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 4-year-old son. We enjoy gardening and everything else that keeps us active outdoors.

I look forward to an exciting and successful school year in providing the best physical education learning experience and outcomes for all my students in 5th-8th grade.

Vision Statement: Helping others overcome challenges by gaining new perspectives brings me great joy and fulfillment. I believe the quality and productivity of each individual’s life are enhanced through participation in a comprehensive physical education program that promotes optimal growth and development in their physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. A developmentally appropriate physical education program empowers students to make wise choices, meet challenges, and exhibit positive behaviors in lifelong fitness and movement activity.
