Annie Brown is native to Southern California but has lived and taught in the Bay Area for the last 21 years. She has an undergrad from the University of the Pacific where she majored in Spanish and minored in Business Administration, as well as a Credential and Masters from San Francisco State. She spent a year studying abroad in Seville, Spain. After graduating, Annie moved to Costa Rica where she taught English in a tiny elementary school located among a number of coffee plantations for a year through a program called World Teach. During that adventure, she discovered her love of teaching.
When she returned to the US she moved to the Bay Area to begin her Spanish teaching career. Annie has taught Spanish at Serra High School, Sacred Heart Lower, and Middle Schools, and is currently teaching Middle School Spanish at Crystal Springs Upland School. During her time teaching, she has led multiple student trips to Costa Rica and Peru. She has served as department chair, team lead, on multiple committees, and has led many clubs.
When she is not teaching, Annie enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys exploring new hiking trails, riding bikes, playing at the beach, and watching her kids play sports. She also enjoys running and embarking on new adventures.
Annie is thrilled to be a part of the Woodside School Team!!!
