Nadia Sokolova is a dedicated Vocal Coach, Choir Conductor, general music and musical theater teacher based in Santa Clara. She holds a permanent California teaching credential and is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). With a strong academic background, she holds a Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Music and Socio-Emotional Learning (MSEL) from San Jose State University (SJSU) School of Education, and a Bachelor of Music Education from SJSU School of Music and Dance. Additionally, she studied Academic Singing at the Moscow Music Gnessin College.

Nadia's teaching philosophy is grounded in Orff (Levels 1 and 2) and Waldorf pedagogical principles, with an emphasis on students experiencing repertoire through acting out songs and kinesthetic experience. She pairs this movement-based, embodied approach with an asset- based, student-centered pedagogy that supports both the musical and personal growth of her
students. Her passion for interdisciplinary projects connects music with various subjects, enhancing students’ participation and engagement.

Nadia currently teaches choir, musical theater, and elementary music (TK-4) at Woodside Elementary School, and has served as a Voice Teacher at Opus11 Music Studio for more than 5 years. Previously, she was Vocal Director at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Lower School. Outside of her professional life, Nadia enjoys yoga, gardening, singing gigs, and spending time with her two sons.
