Nadia Sokolova is a dedicated Vocal Coach, Choir Conductor, and general music teacher based in Santa Clara. With a strong academic background, she holds a Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Music and Socio-Emotional Learning (MSEL) from San Jose State University (SJSU) School of Education, and a Bachelor of Music Education from SJSU School of Music and Dance. Additionally, she studied Academic Singing at the Moscow Music Gnessin College.
Nadia’s teaching philosophy centers on the transformative power of music education integrated with socio-emotional learning. She employs an asset-based, student-centered approach and leverages culturally relevant pedagogy to support both the musical and personal growth of her students. Her passion for interdisciplinary projects connects music with various subjects, enriching students' perspectives and enhancing community engagement.
Nadia has been a Choir Teacher at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Lower School and a Voice Teacher and Conductor at Opus11 Music Studio. She has previous experience as a language coach and conductor at the children's Slavic Choir “Sivka Burka” and has performed leading roles in Russian theater in Sunnyvale.
Outside of her professional life, Nadia enjoys yoga, hiking in Woodside, and spending time with her two sons.
