Book appointment HERE

Two Kara therapists will be available this Wednesday, October 19 from 1-2:30 p.m. in Wildcats for individual counseling/consultation sessions. They can offer guidance on how to have conversations with your children about grief and loss and provide appropriate developmental language to explain death. To make a confidential appointment, please use this LINK.

Community Support
Additionally, we have worked with Kara to be able to offer a community support gathering with counselors from Kara. Please read this document for more detailed information about the gathering. Participants will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings about what happened, learn about grief and loss, and talk about ways to be supportive and empathetic with colleagues, family members, and ourselves in times of grief. If, as a community member, you would like us to move forward with the community support gathering, please email Marta Batlle at mbatlle@woodsideschool.us

Additionally, you may have questions on how to support your child with questions around death, dying, and grief. Here are two resources that may be helpful to you.  If you are interested in finding mental care to support your family’s well-being. Woodside School works closely with Care Solace, an organization that can help you find a mental health provider for your family. This service is available to you at no cost. Care solace will connect you with providers accepting all medical insurance. Information is completely confidential, and no District staff have access to it. We know that your children may not have experience supporting a friend who has lost a loved one. We are helping them to feel confident that they can be a good supportive friend.  We are so appreciative of being part of such a resilient and caring community.  Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything.
