Hello Woodside Families!

I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the Woodside Elementary community this year as a First Grade teacher! Many of you may recognize me from my time as a special education para-educator here on campus; an experience that deeply rooted my love for this incredible community. Prior to my time at Woodside, I spent a year living in Sevilla, Spain, teaching English to 4th–6th grade students. Immersing myself in a new culture was one of the most transformative times of my life, and I am always eager to exchange travel stories and local recommendations!

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Chico State University, as well as a Teaching Credential and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of the Pacific. Having taught across diverse age groups, learning environments, and cultural contexts, I have developed a strong appreciation for the unique brilliance each child possesses. I believe that every child learns differently, and one of my greatest joys as an educator is tailoring my teaching to unlock each student’s unique potential.

First Grade is such a magical, pivotal year marked by astounding leaps in reading, problem-solving, and independence. My goal is to cultivate a warm, vibrant, hands-on classroom where curiosity is celebrated and students feel empowered to take academic risks, ask big questions, and fall in love with learning. At the heart of my approach is a deep dedication to social-emotional development and critical thinking; ensuring every child feels truly seen, safe, and supported as they navigate new challenges both inside and outside our classroom walls.

I can’t wait to welcome your children into our classroom to make this a joyful, unforgettable school year!
